World suicide prevention day

  o raise awareness of the scale of suicide around the world and the role that people can play to help prevent it.  South African depression and anxiety group, revealed that country surfers at least twenty-three suicide per day, for every one suicide there are twenty attempted suicide.  It further stated that men are four times likely to die with suicide than women Wits counselling and Careers Development Unit Psychologist Lean April, during Vow FM’s Main Switch’s Show,  she says talking about suicide minimises action to commit it… “The only way we can break the stigma around mental health or suicide, find out why people contemplate suicide, and talk about it. Because I think none of us really know what circumstances each one faces. Check on them and ask the questions, are you thinking of suicide how are you going to do it. To see how far they have planned.”
