The homeless speak- Ma'Ngwenya

Meet MaNgwenya a rock! strong, black and a woman who will probably never get enough credit for the sweat she has put into building a home for the homeless, rejected and lost.
MaNgwenya is in her 60s and currently resides at  The Center Of Christ shelter which is barely a shelter but more of a big garage. MaNgwenya ended up being one of 3 woman who had a calling to abandon her home and life to cater to others.

When I asked her how did she end up here, she briefly told me she was invited by Christ. Definitely not impossible but strange right? you're probably wondering how "Did he show up at her door step? or did he hold her hand and lead her to this place which is now a shelter?" Well, MaNgwenya had visions which came in forms of dreams where a particular place was constantly being revealed. According to her she understand she had to be there to serve and obey the lord but had no idea where and how to find this place. She told me how she was puzzled and thought the place being revealed in her dreams was located far far away from her, in a different province and her instinct went for Free State only to discover that the place was less than 10 km away from her.

The first time she across the shelter before it was a shelter, she was just visiting a friend who ran a business in one of the rooms which is now a kitchen. MaNgwenya was just there to pray with her friend and noticed nothing special about the place until she was departing. She said "when I was on my away, something told me to turn around and take another look at this place." As she was doing that, she realized that she recognize the place from her dream and was in a state of shock and disbelief. but quickly in that moment she knew this place will be her knew home.

She moved in 2014 when the place was is no condition to be a home, as she prayed God revealed more and more to her. MaNgwenya speaks on how confused she was and had no plan " as i was residing here, I did know how exactly to go about with things but the Lord assured me to stay still is he unfolds his plans." MaNgwenya said she understood the basic reason she had to be there, which was to care for people, both young and old but she had no a clue where to even find those people and where would they sleep.

Everything took shape as strangers walked in asking for help and shelter and other strangers offering beds and permanent ownership of the place. I asked MaNgwenya how it was leaving her life behind to serve other and she had a perfect answer, she told me "God's plan is beyond me and as hard as it was, I had no plans of disobeying him because he has never failed me and he has kept his promise to provide for us along this journey."

MaNgwenya a rock!
